I'm in a lot of pain ...Can Chiropractic Help Me?

I'm in a lot of pain and discomfort with my low back. I've been diagnosed with a disc problem. Is surgery my only option? Can chiropractic help me?

Concerning Surgery: Back surgery is, of course, a dangerous procedure and has a failure rate of around 53%. It's called Failed Back Syndrome. According to The National Center for Health Statistics, an estimated 1.2 million spinal surgeries are performed each year in the U.S., costing on average $60,000 each. Most researchers agree that back surgery should only be performed as a last resort.

A Study involving 85,000 Blue Cross Blue Shield beneficiaries revealed that Big Blue saved 40%, in costs, when back pain patients saw a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) first, rather than an MD.

Concerning Chiropractic Care, many medical doctors and researchers now know that patients who choose the non-invasive approach for disc problems may not need surgery.

According to Dr. Robert Mendelsohn, M.D. "Nobody should be allowed to have back surgery unless they have seen a chiropractor first". Why? Because Doctors of Chiropractic are the only licensed, professional, health care providers specifically educated and trained to detect, correct and prevent, spinal misalignment causing back pain.

Aside from the excruciating pain you are already familiar with, disc problems interfere with spinal nerve function. When a nerve malfunctions, the organ, gland or tissue it controls malfunctions too.  Nerve malfunction in the low back can cause reproductive organ problems, bowel problem, constipation, and other problems, so the pain is not the only problem. Chiropractic addresses the cause, of nerve malfunction, that causes the pain and malfunction.

A proper alignment between the disc, the vertebrae and other spinal structures is essential for healthy discs. That is why chiropractors have such an excellent record with disc pain sufferers and can help them avoid the pain, suffering and expense of unnecessary surgery.

Remember, chiropractic spinal care can also help prevent deterioration and herniation of your discs. Chiropractic can help even if you've already had back surgery.

My advice is to get a chiropractic checkup before your spine gets worse.
